Zeitgeist is a German language expression literally translated: Zeit, time; Geist, spirit, meaning "the spirit of the age and its society". The word zeitgeist describes the intellectual, cultural, ethical and political climate of an era or also a trend.
What does Christianity, 911 and The Federal Reserve have in common?
Zeitgeist was created as a not for profit expression to inspire people to start looking at the world from a more critical perspective and to understand that very often things are not what the population at large think they are.
My sister once asked me, "Bakit hindi na lang sila gumawa ng maraming pera para wala nang problema?"
My answer was simple , "Dahil mawawalan ng value ang lahat.". i was unsure at that time but the second film Zeitgeist: Addendum cleared things up for me. Plus it assured me that it's just right to celebrate my love for technology and the internet. :D
The second film, Zeitgeist: Addendum, attempts to locate the root causes of pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution. This solution is not based on politics, morality, laws, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, but rather on a modern, non-superstitious based understanding of what we are and how we align with nature, to which we are a part. The work advocates a new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influenced by the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project.
Both films I think are basically expounding John Lennon's song "Imagine". ;p
Watch it with an open mind and heart to absorb and digest its message.
